Serve Your Clients

photograph of fitpro recipes kitchen with naomi carsonI’ve been thinking a lot these last few days about the motives behind what I do.

I launched Fitpro Recipes with my husband Alan, in 2012. At the time, Alan was working as a tutor on a Personal Training course. As well as working in this role, he was still working with personal training clients. From Alan’s own experience with clients and trainers new to the industry, it seemed that nutrition was a particularly key area in which Fit Pros could use some assistance.

A recipe book seemed like a great place to start. A powerful tool which could free up much of a PT’s time by alleviating some of the demand from the client… less time spent explaining to clients what they can eat, what they can’t eat, how many different ways they could cook eggs, what to eat when they couldn’t face another egg. You’ve been there, right?

Over the last few months, we’ve been speaking to some of our past Fitpro Recipe clients, to try and identity other brandable, bespoke products we can create to help PT’s even more in their businesses.

A huge number of PT’s told us about the things they really needed. Some mentioned that although their branded recipe book was working an absolute treat with many of their clients, at times some of their clients needed even more steer and motivation.

So we set to work and created a range of high quality meal plans!

Our main drive is to serve you guys, whether you are personal trainers, bootcamp owners or nutrition coaches (or a combination of all 3!). So please keep feeding back to us on areas you feel you need help.

Why do we care so much? Because we genuinely want to help!

The reason being? So that you can help bring about a better change in the world (anyone seen the cheeeeese grater??).

But seriously, the reason our slogan is Serve Your Client’s Success is because our aim is to help you help others.

Because your clients’ success => your success => our success.

Recently I read somewhere that a great objective in life is to leave the world with more than it had when you arrived.

In other words, we should contribute, help, serve, use our talents, passions, drive and focus our efforts and our energy in the best way possible to make the world a more wonderful place… and leave a great legacy to inspire future generations.

Yes, we all want to earn a good income, not just scrape by each month.

But if money is your only motivator, then eventually even our clients may question why we are doing what we are doing.

The most important thing I’ve learnt in the last 12 months is that the more work I do that I am truly passionate about and the more I serve others and contribute to the world, the better the work I create and the happier I am.

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do”
Steve Jobs

The positive energy we generate from being happy in what we do attracts more good things into our lives.

A few questions for you to think about today are:

What things really motivate and drive you?

Where do your passions truly lie?

And… how best can you serve someone today?

In 2012, as my husband and I were embarking on our first Fitpro Recipe project (the Recipe Book), my answers to these questions would have been quite different to what they are today.

Since then, I’ve discovered new motives and drives in my work. The most surprising thing is that I’ve rediscovered my passion for cooking. My last job as a chef left a slightly bitter taste in my mouth and I couldn’t see myself staying in that particular career. Today however, I feel really passionate about creating healthy recipes which will help people on their journey towards a better body and improved health.

Every day I’m exploring ways to create recipes which taste great and encourage people to stay motivated. It’s often challenging, and sometimes food experiments end up in the bin. But I love going through this process and it’s so rewarding when I make a breakthrough!

I’m also learning a lot about online marketing, and how to grow businesses using social media.

Nothing beats the feeling of getting great feedback from you guys and seeing you getting amazing results from your Fitpro Recipe products. Whether that’s seeing you receiving awesome feedback from your clients, seeing your clients getting better results through working with you, or seeing evidence of you getting great return on investment on your Fitpro Recipe product sales.

I feel very lucky to be part of the health and fitness industry right now. The wave is growing bigger every day and it’s an exciting wave to ride. To be contributing to a better change in the world, and the chance to help you help others.

Feel free to hit REPLY with more suggestions for future products, or any other feedback you would like to share.

Best wishes

Naomi
